Five Things

Earlier this week, my husband and I celebrated our NINTH anniversary. Not our wedding anniversary, which is in June, but the anniversary that marks the start of our relationship. I won’t say it all started with a kiss in a dark corridor at work since we’d been friends before and I’d started to suspect there was a little more there, but on May 24th, 2008, with this surprisingly bold move, my now-husband made it very clear that he wasn’t interested in remaining in the friend zone. And the rest is history!

We’re sticking close to home this Memorial Day weekend since I’m 37 weeks today and have been having sporadic, 2-minute contractions, but the weather is supposed to be beautiful so we have some fun activities planned. Lots of things to cross off the to-do list and hopefully, continuing the excellent potty training progress we’ve made with E. If you’re about to embark on that adventure, I highly recommend the book, Oh Crap, Potty Training by Jamie Glowacki.

And finally, a special thank you to all the families of the men and women who have lost their lives serving our country. Memorial Day weekend is often celebrated with grilling and family, but for those missing a loved one who died in service, you’re in my thoughts.

And finally, a picture from shortly after we were officially dating.
It feels like a lifetime ago, but I wouldn’t change all we’ve experienced and where we are now for anything in the world. to celebrating a decade together NEXT year. Here’s hoping we actually remember this anniversary this time next year.
