#32WeeksPregnant last week and feeling pretty done! I don’t know how I can continue to stand upright if these babies grow anymore! At a NST two weeks ago, a nurse and I were chatting as she held the fetal heart monitors on my belly said something to the effect of how surprised she’d been that the pandemic hadn’t deterred more women from getting pregnant. I didn’t take offense but I did think on it quite a bit. First, I never imagined we’d not have progressed past this to a more manageable place by this point. I also didn’t want to delay what we’d already delayed just because we were enjoying the heck out of our girls’ ages. I always always knew another baby was in the cards but was almost convinced as we entered this amazing place as a family, that maybe we were done. But pandemic or no, I’m glad I followed my gut. Am I looking forward to laboring in a protective face mask in an OR full of people? Absolutely not! But when I see those babies it will all have absolutely been worth it.
I don’t like to compare my kids but one definitely takes after dad a bit more than the other. #relaxandrecharge
One of my best finds as I’ve navigated this crazy world of eating for twins has definitely been these Aloha Bars at 14g of protein a piece! I’m usually SO not a protein bar type but I needed a break from RXBars and the plant-based aspect piqued my interest enough to order their variety pack. I was really excited about their coconut and mint options. There were some warehouse fulfillment issues which resulted in my receiving this “Best Seller” pack twice — so... 24 bars later, I would say I have a handle on these things and can highly recommend the peanut butter and the cookie dough versions. The chocolate fudge brownie however, is very chalky tasting. If you’ve ever made a protein smoothie in a blender bottle, you probably know what I’m talking about. Not the most pleasant taste, but you just drink it anyways and swear to yourself you’ll use ice and a real blender the next time. I think the peanut butter flavor is my front runner at the moment, but I’m still holding out to try that coconut one!
Performance atop a snow pile inspired by Bert, from Mary Poppins. Whatever it takes to keep them active outside this winter! ❄️ ☀️ #1000hoursoutside
