One of my fav captures from our whirlwind “desperation road-trip” south in search of warm weather and a change of scenery this past April. But first, a little housekeeping. There is *so much* I want to catch-up on on here but time for these memory keeping endeavors is just so hard to come by lately (little kids!!!!) so this quick little update will have to do. Snapped this as we were crazily packing up the hotel room for a day of exploring (and a hotel switch) and didn’t want to forget two of my favorite moments/memories relating to this trip. First, I’d proposed a road trip in lieu of flying somewhere earlier in the winter but Brian seemed very reluctant/hesitant. He’s a very all-or-nothing type when it comes to making up his mind which often drives me CRAZY, because I am far more easily persuaded based on his preferences, but a moment came where he was IN and I was almost taken aback. I remember him saying about a week prior, that he was excited by the challenge of what we were about to do which is 100% how I was feeling at that moment too. After being emotionally worn down by isolating pandemic parenting for so long, it was a welcome reminder of our how well we compliment each other in life. Challenges energize me like nothing else. There was a current of excitement in our house. A buzz. Brian handled the purchase of a @thule for our trip and told me how happy just looking at it made him, imagining all the future adventures it would see.
This view never gets old! Love it in all seasons but especially in spring. 🌸 🌳
Introduced the next generation to the magic that is @levainbakery. Thought of you, @lko223, who introduced me to Levain way back when in NYC back in 2008. The girls were predictably very impressed! 🍪
I don’t have words yet for losing my dad. Grief has tinted our lives for months as he battled Covid. One of the things that sends me to near tears is remembering how much he loved babies. This photo is of Caroline, in 2018. I don’t even have a picture of him with the twins. Shattering. Please give your loved ones a squeeze if you’re able to.
