I haven’t gone to bed yet, so it’s not officially the 26th, right? How is it possible that a year has passed since this magical little being came into my life and filled my heart with more joy and love than I could ever have thought possible? Looking at her sleeping in my arms the past for weeks as I rocked her to sleep, I found myself lingering over her, breathing her baby smell, admiring her beautiful little hands, her sweet little toes, giving her quick little kisses, and watching her make herself comfortable in all manner of contorted positions on my chest and lap.
I have a lot of time to reflect on the past year since I still nurse her 5-6 times and day and yes — I nurse her to sleep which means I’m the one putting her down for two naps a day, plus bedtime. The past few weeks, I’ve been surprised by the little things that I’d nearly forgotten about from those early weeks and months home with my sweet baby girl. I’m not going to detail them here now; those are for some future posts and it’s late and I need to get to the kitchen to bake a cake from scratch for my baby girl, but I did want to share the fun birthday infographic I worked on specifically for Emilia’s “bunny” themed birthday party later today. I’m really happy with how it turned out. I was completely inspired by an infographic I saw on Life Love Lucy for her sweet daughter Finley.
