April 6, 2021: My due date! // Three weeks ago, I couldn’t have imagined being pregnant for another second so when my OB called to share that there was an opening for delivery that day, we happily headed in to the hospital for my induction. I was a bundle of nerves, but SO excited to finally meet our babies. We snapped a quick last picture as a family of four, promised the girls we’d check-in soon, and less than 12 hours later, Everett and Wesley were in our arms! 🥰
They’re here!! Finally got to meet our twin boys and we are absolutely in love. 🥰☘️
#ChooseToChallenge #IWD2021 One of the greatest challenges as a mother over the last 6 years has been navigating the crushing, laughable task of “balancing” work and family. I’ve tried every combination of employment imaginable — full time, part time, working from home, working outside our home, flexing hours to evenings only, and self-employment. The intentionality and plain grit required to make our situation sustainable, to be able to be home with our kids and still bring in some income is something I’m incredibly proud of and feel lucky to be able to demonstrate for my daughters. Not only that, but including them and seeing how much they have grown and benefited from the responsibilities of helping me with my business is absolutely everything I could hope for. I never imagined this future for myself but I’m so glad I forged my own path and challenged convention. This International Women’s Day, I’m celebrating and cheering on all the other women out there who #ChooseToChallenge and demonstrate what is possible for their kids everyday, whether you are self-employed, work a 9-5, are home full-time, or flex their schedules and juggle part-time, it’s not easy, but it is so worth it.
I love the beach in winter. But signs of spring are right around the corner. 🌷
